Want to make your own organic cotton muslin baby swaddle blanket?
This is a simple project for a confident beginner or advanced seamstress.

Choose ANY 2 Thistle and Fox prints to be custom printed on 270cm (length) x 135cm (width) on lightweight organic cotton muslin fabric suitable for sewing TWO of your own baby swaddle blankets
You'll need a large square, approx 140cm of printed fabric for each swaddle blanket.
Your finished swaddle blanket will measure approx 135x135cm before the first wash.
OPTIONAL: non-printed muslin fabric for the reverse side if you would like to make a WINTER WEIGHT blanket (two layers of material)
This is how I like to make the swaddle blankets for my shop as it makes the swaddles faster to sew and the finished blanket feels super snuggly.
If you live in a warmer climate, one layer of muslin fabric is ideal and allows the greatest breathabilty, quick to dry and the swaddle blanket can also double as a sun shade for the pram.

- Fabric width = 135cm (before shrinking)
- After the first wash, the fabric wrinkles and shrinks in a particular way to give it the classic muslin look.
- We recommend sewing the blanket BEFORE you wash the fabric. This will make it easier to cut & sew before the wrinkles get in the way.
- Please note: Print can sometimes be a little 'off-grain' as the fabric shifts during printing. When preparing your fabric for sewing it is easy to straighten the edges by trimming along the very clear grainlines of the fabric. See photos.
- Choose whether to order the 'Summer Weight Kit' (printed fabric only) or the 'Winter Weight Kit' which includes all the fabric you need for the printed top and blank reverse sides of the 2 blankets.
